Dear City Department / Fleet Supervisor, I am writing to report a near-miss incident involving a City vehicle that occurred on 2/16/2026 at approximately 9:41am at the intersection of Stipp Rd, Handy Rd, and Moffett Rd. I was traveling from Stipp Rd toward Moffett Rd when a City vehicle pulled out from Handy Rd onto Moffett Rd at the same time I was proceeding through. It appeared that the driver may have misjudged the right-of-way or believed there was a stop sign controlling my direction of travel. As a result, I was forced to swerve and slam on my brakes to avoid a collision. Had I not reacted immediately, I likely would have either struck the City vehicle or ended up in the ditch on the right side of the roadway. The situation was extremely close and could have resulted in significant vehicle damage or serious injury. The City vehicle was described as: Vehicle type/color: Gray Ford Escape Plate Number: 100008 I am submitting this report out of concern for public safety and to help prevent a future accident by this individual. Our water was shut off for what I am assuming was a water main issue. We were given no information on next steps. I do not see a boil order the website, but our water is brown, low pressure and sputtering. I would just like be informed. Thank you

Over the holiday weekend, we had yet another water main break in Hyde Park Village. Happy to report that CBU was quick on the scene fix the problem and mostly cleaned up the mess. I would like to speak with someone regarding the issues as this was our second water main break in two weeks. I am the president of Hyde Park Village homeowners association. I forgot to report this at 10pm last night when I observed it. I have not gone by this morning to see if it is still an issue. But, as of yesterday, S. Rogers Street was a mess from the construction site. It was covered in gravel and mud. It was very dangerous in a car and would likely cause bicycle and motorcycle accidents. They apparently do not have a tire washout station setup because they dragged the mess into the road and made it everyone else's problem.

1 year after my yard was flooded with mud, this retention hole behind my house is still unfinished and full of weeds! Recently in July they dug up pipes they had installed, and they are still lying there.... who is responsible for finally finishing this mess and mowing the weeds down? I dread another heavy rain and my yard filling with mud again... Please have the people who are responsible finish construction of this area and maintain it properly! Thanks , Dave Reid 812-363-3049

Hello. I am currently renting a duplex unit at 1701 S Buffstone Ct. Per my landlord, the city is responsible for maintaining the ditches that line E Thornton Dr. There is a lot of debris in the ditches at the moment. When it rains a lot, the ditches fill up with water, and sometimes overflow. Can you please clean up debris from the ditches that line the cul-de-sac? With renting a property, I am not eligible to purchase flood insurance, and so I would greatly appreciate your attention to this matter. Thank you!
