I am requesting the repair of the burned-out streetlight at 314 West 4th Street, which is in front of the Kirkwood building near the B-Line Trail. The dark empty WonderLab on the left, the alley, the dark empty electrical company parking in front, and the dark empty financial assistant building parking on the right are all empty at night, creating a lack of visibility on a street used sporadically by residents walking their dogs. Homeless individuals sneak into the front lawn under the unlit landscape balcony area; while we are compassionate toward them, they are not residents and their intentions are unknown. These issues have skyrocketed in past years during cold weather when the Salvation Army is full, as individuals attempt break-ins to get arrested and have a warm night in jail. The front lobby glass window of the electrical company was also broken at night last year. The photograph shows the street is dark even with the apartment lights on, but becomes very dark when those lights turn off.

Hello, I am writing to request a pedestrian safety assessment of the marked crosswalk on East 10th Street, connecting North Woodbridge Drive and East John Hinkle Place in Bloomington. I live on North Woodbridge Drive and regularly use this crosswalk to reach East John Hinkle Place. I have serious concerns about pedestrian safety at this location, particularly given the volume of traffic traveling in both directions at approximately 40 mph. Although the crosswalk is marked, there are no pedestrian-activated warning lights to alert approaching drivers. At these traffic speeds, I believe the existing markings alone provide insufficient warning, creating an unnecessary risk for pedestrians, especially at night. I would like to formally request that the city evaluate installing Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs) at this crossing. These pedestrian-activated flashing lights would provide motorists with additional warning when someone is attempting to cross East 10th Street. Please let me know whether the city can conduct a safety assessment at this location and what steps would be necessary to consider this improvement. Thank you for your time and consideration.

The traffic light should have a flashing yellow to turn on hence the sign next to the light. It never flashes yellow any more. Something happened and it only ever turns green then red. It is making late to work please fix this!!!!!!

The streetlight at the northwest corner of Willis Drive and 17th Street is malfunctioning. Sometimes it doesn't work at all, while at other times it flickers or is dim. There are only a few occasions when it appears to function properly.

This intersection needs lights that have green turn arrows. Currently the original lights with red, yellow and green are causing havoc and danger. People wait a whole green light for oncoming traffic to go. They will not turn. What this does is holds up everybody from going if you get behind a person that refuses to turn until everybody on the other side of the road goes. It also infuriate some people so people behind two or three cars will go around the car waiting in front which results in near collisions because people turning at the same time are in the intersection already. We need lights to tell people that it’s OK to turn at the same time and we need something that says do not pass because they impede the turn lane. I can’t tell you how many times a day I have seen this and experienced it myself living in this neighborhood right down the street. Something must be done.
