The sidewalk at third and Madison connecting Madison to the b-line trail and crossing the street is currently unshoveled, and road access for handicap individuals on that corner is blocked by plow created embankments. Please have someone come out to shovel and salt these asap as a friend reliant on a mobility scooter in my apartment complex is unable to access groceries/basic needs via the b line trail due to this issue. In addition to this, I’m sure there are more people experiencing this in more spots around the city. I’m not sure what can be done proactively, but is seems that the city has a deep enough well of contractors to subcontract out shoveling/salt on sidewalks critical for access to Bloomington’s disabled population. Thank you for your time!
There’s still snow on 3rd between Walnut and College, on the south side of the street adjacent to the county building used for early voting. And there’s still snow on either side of the overpass on 3rd leading to the B-Line trail. It hasn’t snowed in almost two weeks. Why build a trail for pedestrians if you don’t make it easy to get to the trail? Please do better in the next snowstorm.
An Airbnb, located at 723 W Allen St., is claiming city property as private property. The land on the west end of the park located at 1126 S Fairview St., is being rented out as a parking lot and used to store vehicles, dog kennel etc. Altercations have occurred when children and dog walkers attempt to access the area as the adjacent property owner claims that it is theirs because they maintain it (mowed the grass). The neighborhood would like to see this green space no longer rented out and used for personal storage of one individual.
