Given that the City refuses to fine residents who blow leaves and grass into adjacent properties and/or onto sidewalks and streets (or even just acknowledge the validity of a complaint made about it), it seems like it will be perfectly fine in the future for everyone to just rake all their leaves and grass clippings into the streets and let the street-cleaners deal with the mess.

Bloomington Fire Department Chief of Planning Tania Daffron couldn’t plan her way out of a paper bag. Her incompetence has repeatedly cost the department in reputation, dollars, and in wasted man-hours. She should have a performance review and her position should be terminated.

Transient man screaming and yelling outside City Hall first thing this morning (around 7AM timeframe). Individual was screaming about pointing guns at him and repeatedly talking to himself. Staff feel uncomfortable entering the building this early in the AM without other security measures in place. The individual then began approaching cars as more staff pulled up for the day to park and come inside City Hall. Again, it is uncomfortable as an individual to leave vehicle and walk alone with someone being unstable and yelling at you. Is there someone on site beginning around 7AM at all?

For more than two weeks, the owner has let a man sleep in a tent in her side yard. The man sleeping in the tent is a registered sex offender. He has all of his belongings under tarps. It's a mess.

There’s a woman who sleeps and/ or stays under the old Small Favors back entrance who routinely shouts at passersby all day, every day. For years now. She definitely needs help of some sort, but those of us who love or work down here are pretty fed up.

Subject: Concern About Clogged Storm Drains on 1st Street
Dear Bloomington Town Official,
I am reaching out regarding an ongoing issue with leaves clogging the above-ground grated storm drains along 1st Street, between Henderson and Grant Streets. I previously reported this concern a few weeks ago, but the problem has reappeared due to the continued accumulation of leaves.
The situation seems to have worsened following Bloomington's policy change to no longer collect unbagged leaves. As a result, many residents are no longer raking, and the town has become noticeably untidy. These clogged drains pose a significant risk of flooding when it rains, creating potential hazards for our community.
I kindly ask for prompt attention to clear these drains and consider ways to address the broader issue of leaf accumulation to maintain the town’s cleanliness and prevent future drainage problems.
Thank you for your time and assistance.

Encampment forming here. Several individuals, tents, trash etc.
Also can you please just make a dedicated category to report issues with the unhoused and encampments. It is allegedly a priority for this administration.

Went for a walk with my partner and pup, ended up using my shirt as a compress for a dying man.
Sorry for the smart comment, but maybe it’s time to figure out how to tackle the balance of compassionate treatment of the transient population with public safety. My girlfriend will be processing the trauma for days and Howe St has become a thoroughfare.
