Citizen (Mark Land) apparently contacted Utilities before but was not satisfied with the response-- he missed a water payment because he was on vacation and is upset that the situation cannot immediately be fixed. He already paid the past due balance, but water was shut off. He was told it could be turned back on by 6 or by tomorrow, and he just wants it on sooner rather than later. Call (812) 272-1500. The water is in his wife's name (Theresa Spano)
John Adams (812.325.0499) called to ask to speak with the mayor directly regarding his frustration with mud all over the road at 11th and Walnut.
Marcus Moyer reported two potholes on a bridge near Lucky's and the B-line trail. One that he had previously reported is now covered with a metal sheet, but he was hoping that could be repaired in addition to a new one nearby. He didn't give much description about the location. He would appreciate an email follow-up, but phone is (812) 333-2772.
Marcus Moyer called in reporting graffiti on a stop sign on Washington St. & 2nd St. Would like email follow-up at traveler@bluemarble.net.
Citizen registered complaint about parking during Bryan Park events-- he says overflow usually goes to Woodlawn, but even then there isn't enough parking and cars begin parking in people's yards on Woodlawn and around the park.
Citizen called, wanted to stay anonymous, reporting dangerous behavior by road crew working on Old 46. Drove toward her in her lane, head-on.
2 dead skunks in the road on West 3rd Street, a block east of Johnson Ave. Terrible smell affecting the neighborhood.
Lisa Merchant 502.939.6538 called to express concern about homeless/transient population on Kirkwood becoming more assertive and aggressive. Daughter (rising IU junior) works at Pitaya and is approached daily, including being asked outright for her take-out food container yesterday. Lisa called BPD and was told that police hands are tied due to the city's stance on the issue. She said she worries that her daughter will be unsafe while walking to her car after work once it gets dark earlier, and suggests that a reserve BPD officer be available to "walk girls to their cars" after sundown. Just wants to be added to the broader list of concerns about city homeless.
Jeff Lowe, property owner at 1303 S. Park St., has had ongoing frustrations with Duke Energy regarding the removal of a tree from his property. He called expressing frustration, so OOTM would be aware of an unhappy Duke Customer. I believe he spoke to Julia yesterday as well.
