My understanding is that this establishment is not legally allowed to have a liquor license due to their proximity to a church. The HPC rejected their application to become an historic district, and they have no other avenues to legally sell alcohol I am aware of. Please let me know if I am mistaken, or if they are flagrantly violating the law.
Owner is mixing tea at her residence in the basement of her home. This home and basement has sanitary issues (previously reported) such as ants, rodents, and squirrel infestation. There is not a licensed kitchen and I have ordered and afraid of what conditions my tea is packaged in. No response from business about my order and her tea shop is closed permanently since end of December. She has posted on social media she is working on the orders and other posts state she is working on them in her residence basement. This is a concern. Thank you for investigating. Owner of Cup and Kettle Tea LLP, Jessica Messmer, Medusa Enterprises LLC is mixing tea at the her own home on 1/28. The business is closed and she is now fulfilling online orders and city orders in her private residence basement without a commercial kitchen and guidelines. Flashing lights on the store front
In late night hours confirmed on weekends we are seeing hot dog carts setting up in the middle of Kirkwood which is a violation of food truck and mobile vendor codes.
Graffiti on dumpster and trespassing
The Golden shear barbershop has recently passed over new ownership. The establishment and owner have been unlawfully operating without any legal licenses. The owner and barbers have been giving services to the public without proper training and ever obtaining a license through the state barber board as required. This matter is very important and serious as without the proper training diseases such as hepatitis, HIV, or other infectious diseases can spread. The use of the razor blade and the lack of training in sanitation and chemical control can be a danger to the public. With many students entering the establishment there’s a risk with the spread of these diseases. The city of Bloomington should hold this business up to standards and make sure they get barbers license and state board approval to operate.
Someone hacked all of these trees and limbed them up a ridiculous amount. Feels sooo barren now. Why would the city endorse this level of cutback on large sycamore trees? The canopy is going to be so high above a pedestrian that there is no feeling at all left of being in a wooded street scape. Very disappointing after all this work and money spent.
City parcel on w Cottage Grove is overgrown and has been reported several times it's covering the sidewalk and it's the only sidewalk on the street that kids walking to school use. The weeds are also growing along the curb .
