There was an accident on our corner (9th & Walnut) this weekend. I didn’t see it, but heard it and saw the immediate aftermath. Looking at the positions of the cars, I guessed that the car that was hit had been crossing Walnut via 9th and was t-boned. When I looked at the stop signs on 9th Street, I realized that there is no indication for the driver that this is NOT a 4-way stop. These big crosswalks could easily make people think that it’s a 4-way. These 9th Street stop signs need “cross traffic does not stop” signs added to them so that drivers new to Bloomington can be safer.

Caller to HAND wants to report that large furniture items and trash are in the dumpster area but not in the dumpster. She says that this happens on a steady basis throughout the property. She said she has not notified management because in the past they have not responded. She would like a compliance officer to look at all the dumpsters, especially near garage 1. It is extremely hard to see incoming traffic on this street. There is a stop sign for drivers on Lincoln but not for drivers on 2nd street. As you wait in Lincoln for clearance, both tree branches on your left and parked cars on your right make it difficult to see incoming traffic.

Multiple potholes in this stretch of Lincoln, ranging from the size of a tea plate to a dinner plate. Bikers in the bike lane have to enter the car lane to avoid them. The road is also covered in gravel and debris from construction on a nearby apartment.
