Utility contractor is using rebar rods for safety fencing around open holes along side walk but they are not using rebar caps on top of the rebar which poses an impailment hazard if someone was to fall into the rebar.
As you may know, the cable installers are back at work in the Winslow Farms neighborhood (after leaving it uncompleted for well over a year), and they are inflicting significant damage on properties. We came home to find piles of dirt and rock, a new ground box not flush with the ground, and significant damage far up into our lawn from their boring machine--way beyond the utility easement. Further, their work is damaging sidewalks-both cracking the concrete and pushing it up to create tripping hazards. They were rude to our neighbor who confronted them about these issues. Further, they indicated that they were going to trench back between the houses on Azalea, across the conservancy area, to Bayberry. I would like to talk with someone from the city about this excessive damage, how far back onto our property they are allowed to bring their construction equipment before it becomes trespassing, what is an acceptable expectation/timeline for repairs to our lawn, and what sort of plans they may have for trenching back between our houses and across a conservancy area. They posted announcements of their work AFTER they began and a neighbor complained. Lineal Contracting from Bedford is putting in underground utilities for something (AT&T I think) in our area and left a hole in my front yard (and my neighbors) and took off without filing it in. Haven’t seen them in over a week. I called them but they gave no answers and didn’t contact me when they said they would. All I (and my neighbor) request is they return to finish their work. A complete disrespect of private property. Can you help? Enough is enough with this!!
Gas? Workers dug up multiple parts of my lawn and driveway. This was two weeks ago. They said they were going to come back and fix everything but obviously that hasn’t happened. In the dirt is ground pieces of the old driveway including baseball sized chunks. We are also selling the house so this is hiring our home value - no one wants to buy a house with a broken chunk of driveway.
Duke Energy has refused to remove a large orange cable that is down on the length of my property (3/4 of an acre). They say someone else needs to take care of it, like maybe a cable company. I am concerned that it is dangerous to kids in my neighborhood and I cannot do yard work around it. Moreover, it is in the utility easement. They said to pick it up and see if it is attached to the utility line and I am unwilling to do that because it seems risky. In any case, no utility should be leaving their waste on my property and they should take responsibility for removing it safely.
Fiber-optic people bored a hole through the street, then filled it up with gravel instead of asphalt. Now, the gravel has washed away and there is a hole that someone could step in and trip. It is close to the scooter corral on the SW corner of Grant/Cottage Grove.
whatever person decided to put up a thing of poles at the turn at the light needs to remove them. never had a problem at that turn and almost get into a crash today because of them
The cover of one of the new boxes in the ground for the fiber optic cable is off. This makes a deep hole about 1.5 x 3 feet that a small child or dog could step into.
ATT has not repaired downed utility lines since the storm several months ago. Who is responsible for making sure that ATT takes care of their lines? (I am not an ATT customer)
Two sinkholes have formed, one at the corner of Claybridge Dr and Sare Rd, the other about 30 ft up the sidewalk on Claybridge, after recent neighborhood groundwork that had been done by the contractor for Bloomington Gigabit Now Fiber project. The sinkholes are a hazard to pedestrians and are in need of repair as soon as possible.
