As you drive north out of S Westplex Ave to get on 3rd St. there is a bush that is blocking the view of oncoming traffic. By the time you inch out far enough to see oncoming cars, you are already too far out. Bush is on the SW corner. It is in the neighborhood of the Quarters and Dillion. Students will be back soon and that intersection will have heavy traffic soon.
The Madison Park HOA would like to request that this tree, and the nearby tree stump from previously cut tree, are both removed. This is located in between the HOA property and the street, next the southwest building. We had a tree removal contractor assess this area and inform us that the tree is dying and needs to be removed. I believe this is the only tree left in this area, and we have been previously informed that these trees are owned by the City, not the HOA. Trees on the street side of the sidewalk on this property (especially, but not only, the one near the driveway) appear to be in poor health or dead. Branches fall with nearly every moderate storm that comes through.
When pulling left out of east burks drive visibility is obscured significantly by trees and other foliage compared to the right side. Because of this and people commonly driving over the speed limit can lead to potential accidents. If possible could a city department trim the road side plants to increase visibility.
