Drain not draining
There is a longstanding and ongoing drainage issue affecting the area in front of 3504 and 3505 S Westminster Way in Bloomington, IN. Every time it rains, significant flooding occurs on our street, making it unsafe for residents to leave their homes and hazardous for vehicles attempting to pass through the area. On previous occasions we cad cases of drivers have become stranded in the large pool of water that forms directly in front of these properties. This persistent flooding presents a serious public safety concern for both residents and motorists. In addition, we are living with the constant fear that continued inadequate drainage may eventually result in flooding damage to our properties. Despite the recurring nature of this problem, the existing street drains have not been properly cleared or improved, and additional drainage infrastructure appears necessary to address the issue effectively. We respectfully request that the City take immediate action to investigate and resolve this matter as soon as possible.
We have an area right next to some storm drain manhole covers where a section of ground has fallen in. This area is starting to cave in under the roadway as well.
Storm drains clogged with rocks and debris
A hole has opened up in the ditch in front of my house, though I'm not sure if it is on my property, my neighbor's, or if it is in the city right of way. It's close to the street. It's about 18" wide and a little more than 24 in. deep. I don't know if the hole extends laterally under the street or in another direction. Please lmk if you need any additional info or if I should direct this to a different dept. Thanks!
This issue was reported last year, taken up by a team of city employees, who communicated a plan would be shared when formed related to the fix. All follow-up inquiries through email and phone have been left unanswered. The stormwater management in the Hoosier Acres neighborhood on Brownridge rd. is insufficient east to west for the majority of the roadway on either side.
I am addressing a sink hole on my property related to storm water erosion. On my property (Lot 5) and neighbor’s (Lot 6) property there is an easement by the city for storm water storm drainage. Is there any assistance you can provide to me regarding the filling of the sink hole and/ or ensuring that proper drainage is occurring at your easement?
