The storm drain in the parking lot is so terrible that it has dropped close to 12 inches below the pavement. It’s not a pothole. It’s a crater! This can be allowed to stay this way.

The storm drain in the parking lot has sunk nearly 12 inches below level street/ground. It’s not a pothole around this drain. It’s a sinkhole that whole car tires can be swallowed in. It’s so unacceptable that this has been allowed to stay this way for weeks. There will be a person who truly is hurt severely one night when their car flips from hitting this in darkness.

The storm drain here routinely clogs with leaves and floods this corner of the street. Me or neighbors have to unclog it constantly. Sometimes 3-4 times on a rainy day.
Is there some engineering fix for this? A larger grate or different grate design perhaps? I fear one day I'll get electrocuted trying to clear this grate during a lightning storm. The alternative to risking death is letter my garage flood, which also seems unpleasant. Thanks!

We have had significant flooding at the intersection of 11th St and Blair Ave for many years. The water is high enough to jump the north curb and flood the sidewalk. What I realized in the last storm is that much of the problem stems from insufficient stormwater inlets upstream. In particular, there are no inlets near the intersection of 11th and Orris Dr, so the water simply follows the road and creates excess drainage demand on the inlets at Blair. We could really use an upgrade to the drainage system along 11th Street and its side roads in this area.
