South Shore Trail at Griffy

Case Date:
6/15/2026

I have been hiking the South Shore Trail at Griffy lately and I have become lost more than once. I appreciate the maps on posts, but they are missing a crucial element: a red dot showing where on the map one is. Signs pointing to certain trails would also be helpful. The most confusing place is where the Meadow Wood trails and Griffy loop trail is.

Light in the NE corner of the park, where the small upper pavilion/picnic area resides has been out for nearly a year. I complained this spring, but it is still dark and at night can hear people, but they are not visible. I have an anxious dog who can protect me, but it is unsafe.

The bush near the sidewalk in Bryan Park near the intersection of Henderson and Davis is taking over the sidewalk. There’s a tree growing in the bush which grows faster than the bush. Both are taking over. I’ve trimmed this myself 3 times in the past year so that pedestrians and bikes can stay on the sidewalk. Can you trim, or better replace the bush with a nice shade tree that would enhance the park. Thanks, Jon Lawrence
