The unhoused encampment behind the IMI concrete plant on private property has continued to get out of control. This has been cleared out already and has now grown to the largest size to date. We have seen 50+ people on a daily basis back and forth. More and more of the unhoused have been cutting through private property on Cherokee Drive, leaving trash in yards, starting fights in the area, and continuing to scope out an abandoned house at the end of Cherokee to which the cops have been called out to at least twice. There is a brand new subdivision being built at the end of Cherokee and the area is finally being built up along with the addition of Switchyard Park. Bloomington has numerous services for the unhoused but camping on private property and causing issues to nearby neighborhoods should not be tolerated. The fear in the area is that this is becoming more and more unsafe as this encampment continues to grow in size. Please address this increasingly dangerous situation as soon as possible.

For Council & Mayor Offices: The whole near west side within city limits that leads to what everyone considers the actual west side of Bloomington (whether in city limits or not) is being very poorly zoned and utterly bad development. The city never prioritizes parks or other greenway features - or even just simple street trees and better vegetation requirements. All the businesses over here continue to get gigantic parking lots and the less popular zoning cases (i.e. rehabilitation centers) are pushed to the west side. Where are these items on the east side of town? Or north? This is inequitable zoning and use of resources focused only to east side and downtown residents. We want to see better.

The fiber optic cable pit at 700 S Eastside Drive (right next to the No Parking Any time sign) is missing its (green?) cover, so now there is a big hole in the grass. I think it was blown off by a recent storm.

The trash pickup truck just went by my street, picking up trash notmally. But the truck was playing loud music filled with obscenities and violent language. My young kids enjoy watching the trash pickup - please instruct trash pickup personnel to stop blasting inappropriate music to everyone on my street right away. Thanks, Daniel Cueto

On 1/24/2025 and 9:15 AM on bus #0348, I observed the strong odor of and could see smoke-haze from deisel exhaust backing up into the public bus. I have spoken to Bloomington Transportation dispatch and customer service and was told that, "That is just part of the bus's regenerative re-uptake process." When they refused to take this matter seriously in the past, I contacted the EPA. The EPA shall be contacted again on this issue since neither the city nor bus company will take this matter seriously, which inevitably affects the city's rating with the EPA as a green-friendly city. Snow Plow issue last week. My street, Cedarwood Drive, gets one pass with the snow plow down the middle of the street. It is a two lane street. This pushes all of the snow in front of my sidewalks, street, driveway and mailbox. This makes it impossible for me to move all of that snow to use my area for parking on my street in front of my house, impossible to access my mailbox by me or the mailman and impossible for me to place my garbage cans in front of my house for pick up. A few years ago, the plows would come both ways and do a better job. These past few years they are doing a very poor job. We did have a lot of snow last week, but since then it has been clear. I can see why they needed to do one quick pass initially, but they should have time to make a second pass and clean up the mess they made. I intentionally did not have any cars parked in front of my house for the reason to keep it clear for the snow removal plows. There is no reason they needed to leave five feet of snow on the street in front of my house.

The crews that installed the digital fiber in front of my house cut down some small trees, but didn't haul away the branches. The chipper truck came through and picked up tree debris from other yards, but not from mine. Can it still be picked up?

8:04pm, Friday, November 8, 2024: A Marshall Security vehicle came out of Switchyard Park on the west side along Rogers without stopping, turned south on Rogers in front of traffic, and had a single headlight and a single taillight and no turn signals used. This was a small vehicle that has a small truck bed to it they use for patrols. This is not the first time I have seen Marshall Security disregarding traffic laws in that vehicle. Can the City address this? They need to repair the burnt out headlight and taillight as it is illegal to operate a licensed motor vehicle on the streets without those.
