10-22-24/Tuesday at 7a.m.: Blue gray SUV (Missouri license plate # RHO M7D)is parked too close to the intersection of Maxwell Lane and Eastside Drive. The car is on the west side of the road on 900 south block of Eastside Drive.
The double yellow line on Henderson just south of the Hillside intersection meaners all over the road. While this is mostly an aesthetic issue, the line veers to the west right at the south side of the intersection with Hillside. This narrows the road for southbound traffic on Henderson to the extent that southband vehicles routinely must cross the double yellow line to avoid hitting cars parked on the west side of Henderson. I think this section of double yellow line should be repainted several feet to the east.
Please finish traffic line striping and stop bars before winter. Thanks.
Sunday 6:30 a.m.: Jeep with Indiana license plate #IE 6720 parked too close to the intersection of Maxwell Lane and the 900 south block of Eastside Drive.
I use this route to take my children to school every single day of the week. I have noticed that if a vehicle is turning left from either direction off of E 10th Street they usually have to wait for oncoming traffic that is going straight through the light. This backup undoubtedly causes panic and frustration in drivers trying to make it to work or school in time because the line can be quite long. The solution for most drivers that I've noticed is to go straight through the light utilizing the Right Only turn lane. It doesn't take a genius to realize what can happen when someone unexpectedly blows through an intersection. The other issue is if the car turns left then you have 2 cars simultaneously going straight through an area that is meant to be one car. Today alone I watched 4 cars use the right lane one after another and almost cause a multi-car crash. This is especially dangerous because this area has a high volume of pedestrians feet away who are trying to make it to classes at IU. I have personally witnessed and almost been part of more accidents going in both directions at this intersection than anywhere in my entire life. I would like to offer some solutions rather than just complain. 1. Have a designated left turn lane instead of a right turn that people will inevitably blow through. 2. Add a left turn signal so one car don't hold up all of the traffic on that entire road causing people to get upset. 3. If you don't want to do either of those then at least install a sign that states the right turn lane is ONLY for right turns because people obviously don't understand what an arrow on the ground means. 4. Post a police officer here for about a week and I bet you'll see some changes. He is going to be busy though with all of the traffic violations witnessed. I would generally not even give this a second thought, but I travel this road everyday with my children to and from school. It is actually mind blowing how many close call accidents I have witnessed at this exact spot. Please look into this matter for the safety and well-being of your community. The windows in my apartment that look onto E.3rd St do not block out the extreme heavy truck and vehicle road noise. How did this building get built and passed a noise test/study(If there was such a study, or process) along E.3rd St (Highway)? In addition the slight gradient of the road adds to excessive noise whether a vehicle accelerates up the hill,or engine braking from the trucks going down the hill.This situation has already effected my health, lack of sleep significantly . Why didn't the builder or noise code require soundproof windows, on this side of the building, or allow the building to be this close to this highway(which it is).
One lane traffic to the construction I'm sure you guys were busy and making sure you got your yearly fucking raise but you did you really have to wait till 40,000 calls gets came back to close down fucking one lane of traffic on each side of West 3rd Street you douchebags you some fucking common sense you guys care so much about climate change but you got traffic backed up all the way to Adam Street when you guys use some fucking common sense bitch you better fucking go d damn girl you stupid mother fucker
Speeding on Morningside on way to park east
I live in Fieldstone subdivision which I believe the city is attempting to annex. People speed constantly down Fieldstone Way, as many use it as a cut-through. There are many walkers, pets, and kids that live both off this road and on side streets, myself in the latter. Please consider a traffic study and/or speed bumps on this main street. Thank you.
Very high, unsafe car speeds on Morton between Dodds and Patterson, especially during commute times. There are many people walking on this street (primarily homeless) and I fear for their safety.
