Dear City Hall, I am writing to bring to your attention an issue I have noticed on the north side of 3rd Street, between Grant Street and Dunn Street, next to the public parking lot. The sidewalk in this area has become hazardous due to the roots of a large tree causing the paving stones to rise, creating a tripping hazard for pedestrians. This is particularly concerning because the bike lane on 3rd Street, heading east to west, ends at Dunn Street, forcing cyclists and scooter riders onto the sidewalk. Many cyclists and scooter riders have tripped over the uneven pavement here. Additionally, the sidewalk at the northwest corner of Dunn Street and 3rd Street has multiple areas of damage. These issues pose a significant risk to public safety, and I kindly request that the necessary repairs be carried out as soon as possible. Thank you for your attention to this matter. There is a growing campsite on the north side of Wylie, not far from the intersection of S. Walnut, that is effectively making it impossible for some individuals with special needs to use the sidewalk there. This is not in a secluded area, but instead directly by a home in a residential area. This is a mixed issue. Not only is this campsite impeding foot travel, it is also against Bloomington policy by being an overnight campsite on public property.

Commercial tent is setup, possibly distributing electronic devices. The sidewalk is blocked by traffic of customers. City curbs shouldn't be used for private commerce without permit and traffic plan.

Please add more signage to 3rd and Rogers St. to discourage through traffic on W 3rd St. especially large trucks and vehicles with trailers. 4th St. & 3rd St. & Howe are all designated “neighborhood residential street” in the Bloomington Transportation Plan. They are to be “low speed and low volume”. There is a sign east of Rogers on 3rd. that says “No through trucks on 3rd St” but it is old and very faded. I am asking if a similar sign could be newly added to the two sign posts at Rogers that are of a picture of a black truck with a red circle crossing it out, add the written signs underneath that, is that possible? Thanks.
