Received by the police department and an extra patrol request was generated in reference to increased traffic enforcement, when possible, due to speeding vehicles.
Other: the speed of cars in between 2nd and maxwell on high street has become a real dangerous problem. Cars routinely go 45-50 mph in front of our house. In both directions cars seem to race up the hill whihc peaks at 1st street. We request that you do a speed study. this is extremely important because of all the school traffic in the area. The city is destined to have a traffic injury or worse on this street if it does not take care of the issue. Either some tickets need to be issued, speed bumps need to be added or a stop sign needs to be placed at 1st street. We are happy to provide video evidence is you like. It is non stop during traffic areas.

Reopening to forward speed enforcement issue to BPD.
Hi Jeffrey, Thank you for sending in this report of speeding on High ST. The Resident Led Traffic Calming Program provides a path for speeding concerns to be addressed through treatments such as speed humps. You can learn more and sign up to be notified when the 2027 application cycle opens by visiting the webpage: https://bloomington.in.gov/tcgp. All the best, David Brantez Alternative Transportation Coordinator [email protected]
Directing them to you as their complaint is about speeding and traffic calming would be the appropriate solution. Feel free to send to PD after you share info about the program in case they want to enforce this area.
