We currently have construction occurring at this intersection, and some travel lanes will be blocked at different times over the next few weeks. To keep traffic moving as well as possible during construction, we have temporarily removed the protected left-turn phase. At times, through traffic also needs to use the left-turn lane because of the lane closures. If the signal continues serving a separate left-turn phase during those conditions, it can give green time to traffic that is actually waiting to go straight, which can create even longer backups on Rogers. It is not an ideal situation, but this temporary operation is intended to minimize overall delay while the construction is underway. We appreciate everyone's patience and encourage using an alternate route if desired. The work is expected to be completed in about two weeks. The project includes curb ramp and truck apron improvements along the Patterson, Grimes, and Rogers corridors to improve accessibility and bring these intersections closer to current standards.
