Thanks for bringing this to our attention. This operation was changed as part of recent signal timing updates, in part to provide more consistent service for people using the multi-use path. We’ll take another look at this location, including pedestrian and bicycle activity, vehicle volumes, and the amount of delay being created during low-volume times such as 5 a.m. We can then consider whether it makes sense to return some or all of the intersection to detection-based operation while still providing appropriate service for people crossing the street.
