closed: Submission Received #211667

Traffic Suggestions:

Other: Feedback for the pedestrian push button in front of the Bloomington Transit Center building: I think it would be helpful to have a button to cross W 3rd St facing the larger portion of the sidewalk. As a pedestrian, I am particularly aware of not getting too close to corners of sidewalks until my time to cross is ready, especially corners with low curbs that busses and trucks need to take tightly against the sidewalk in order to make the turn.

Hello, Thank you for flagging this. I see what you mean that having the pedestrian push button located farther from the corner and closer to the larger sidewalk area could be helpful, especially at a location with bus and truck turning movements. I will note this concern and take a look at whether this is something we can improve here or at similar locations in the future. I cannot guarantee a change right away, but this is helpful feedback as we continue looking for ways to make pedestrian crossings more comfortable and accessible. Thank you again for taking the time to share it. John Garzee
