Potholes, Other Street Repair:

Other: We live right in front of the new huge metal plate that is covering a construction hole on 2nd. This plate is so loud and boomy each time a car drives by, so, constantly. It vibrates our home and can be heard all the way in the back over noise machines. Can anything be done to slow down traffic here in hopes of some peace? We’ve been very patient with the ongoing, loud, repairs being done all day and sometimes all night, as well as the reduced parking and blocked access to our driveway. As you know, all the streetlights have been removed around here, making it harder for vehicles to see this plate and slow down in time.

Thank you for reporting this issue. I have spoken with the contractor regarding the disturbance. They have agreed to wedge the plates with asphalt to help dampen the noise and will work to restore the base as soon as possible so the plates can be removed entirely.
