Sidewalk & Curb Complaints:

Other: The complaint is the lack of curb. Trucks from next door atrhe drywall company, the mail people, and cars in general cut the corner and drive into my yard all the time. Every year i am filling holes from tires with dirt. Can I request a curb?

Hello Audrey, Thank you for reaching out and explaining what you’ve been experiencing. I understand how frustrating it is to have vehicles cutting the corner and driving onto your property. We took a look at this location, and there are a couple of things going on. The edge of the roadway does appear to be deteriorating, and we’ll review whether any repairs are needed on the street itself. In terms of installing curb, the City typically does not install curb as a one-off improvement at a single location. Curb is usually constructed as part of a larger project, such as a sidewalk or roadway improvement. We’ve added your street to our sidewalk request list, and if a project moves forward in this area, curb would be included at that time. At this point, we don’t have any plans scheduled for near-term construction, but it is on our radar for future consideration. In the meantime, property owners are welcome to install curb or other edge protection along their frontage if they choose. Some residents also use landscaping or other features near the corner to help visually discourage vehicles from encroaching onto their property, as long as anything placed remains outside of the roadway and does not create a safety issue. Best, John Garzee

Responded to resident about curb installation and possible solution they could take. City is not installing new curbs at this moment.

Thank you for reaching out and for sharing the details of what you’ve been experiencing. We understand the concern, especially with water flow and vehicles impacting the edge of your property. We will review the roadway condition at this location to determine if any maintenance or repair is needed on the street itself. Regarding curb installation, the City typically does not install curb as a one-off improvement at individual locations. Curb is generally constructed as part of a larger project, such as a sidewalk or roadway improvement. This area can be included on our list for future sidewalk consideration, and if a project moves forward, curb would be installed at that time. In the meantime, property owners are welcome to install curb or other edge protection along their frontage. Some residents have also used landscaping or physical barriers to help manage runoff and prevent vehicles from encroaching. If you have additional photos, especially during rain events, they would be helpful for our review. John Garzee Traffic Engineer
