Parking on Unimproved Surface:

Other: Why does RDC land continue to be used as vehicle storage and parking? This used to be vegetated. Now it’s a large gravel lot that shouldn’t be there. We’re all not allowed to make this so why are they? Does the forge and Mille have special rules? Please ensure this gets corrected. There’s supposed to still be an alley in here somewhere isn’t there? It’d be great to know where, as it shouldn’t be blocked by vehicles.

There is a condition on the final occupancy recommendation for the Trades District Tech Center, which allowed the gravel area to remain provided that a site plan approval was obtained by 03/31/2026 for the development project on the parcel where the gravel lot is located. That site plan approval has been obtained and the hotel is working through permitting. The gravel lot will be removed.

This was recently discussed by several staff. Part of the lot is paid parking with park mobile, and much of it is set to develop with a hotel in the near future. Parking enforcement will be monitoring.
