Staff reviewed this location and completed a turning path analysis for larger vehicles, including a passenger vehicle with a trailer. The analysis shows that typical passenger vehicles and SUVs are able to complete the turn at low speeds without needing to drive over the curb. This intersection is also not on a Bloomington Transit bus route, so it is not intended to regularly accommodate bus traffic. In addition, we reviewed the crash history at this location and did not find any crashes related to this turning movement in the past five years. Based on the turning analysis and crash data, we are not proposing immediate changes at this time, but we will continue to monitor this area and keep it in mind for any future design or maintenance work.
