Wildlife Conflict:

Other: I live in a basement apartment at The Quarry apartments, and there is a recurring rat problem that has not been resolved by my property owner/management. Rats have been actively present in the window well outside my basement window. This is not the first time this issue has occurred — last year, rats managed to enter my apartment, and I had to purchase my own sticky pads to catch them. At that time, the property management was notified, but no permanent solution was put in place to prevent recurrence. This year, the problem has returned. I submitted a maintenance request several days ago, followed by multiple emails (including a formal escalation) and phone calls. Despite these efforts, the property management has failed to respond or take corrective action. The ongoing presence of rats poses a serious health and safety hazard and directly impacts the habitability of my apartment. Given that this is a repeated issue, and management has been unresponsive, I am requesting HAND to inspect the property and require the landlord to take immediate corrective action, including extermination and sealing of all potential entry points.
