Parks & Playgrounds:

Other: This is to report a threat that we received at the Switchyard dog park against our dog. After one of our dogs barked and jumped at one of the dogs that was on leash at the entrance to the park, the owner yelled at us and threatened to have our dog put down. He then called security and in front of security staff member threatened to shoot our dog. We regularly bring our dogs to the dog park and they are very friendly with other dogs. We felt threatened during that incident and felt this should be a matter of record for the benefit of other park patrons.

Thank you for sending this in. Your uReport does help us document things with this individual in case other actions become necessary. I did discuss the incident with the security company. I would have hoped they handled the issue somewhat differently. There are limitations on what the Parks Dept can do. If it's a situation involving an aggressive dog, we encourage people to call Animal Control. If it's a situation involving an individual making threats or being aggressive to other people, we encourage people to call BPD. Staff have been made aware of this incident and we will keep an eye out for this individual. Hsiung Marler Recreation Facilities General Manager Bloomington Parks and Recreation 401 N.
