The Deputy Mayor directed the Fire Chief to address inappropriate questioning with staff.
Other: I would like to make known to you that I was a victim of racial profiling by one woman that works at the Bloomington Fire Department. This happened June 10 between 11:30 am to 12 noon at the Upper Cascades Lions Den shelter that she attended an event of Ivy Tech Community College. I was helping out and she asked me where I am from then I answered her I’m from Bloomington, then with an attitude asked me again where are you originally from? Me and my friend got caught off guard and answered her I’m from question.. Then she said that she was born and raised in New York then asked me why am I hear in Bloomington. It was so shocking to me that somebody approached me and my friend that way. Her name is Natalie and she was wearing a Bloomington Fire Department uniform. I hope this gets taken care off coz I’ve been serving I. This community for a long time and I have never experienced this in my life. I hope this will not fall on deaf ears. Thank you
