Other: When I try to pull out of the Walnut St. parking lot for switchyard park onto Walnut St. there are always big tow trucks blocking my view of traffic to the north and I think there is a big limestone sign maybe marking Switchyard Park itself blocking my view to the south, so that I have to pull out fully blocking the sidewalk to see if it is safe to turn onto Walnut. I think it might be necessary for some cars to even stick into the roadway a little before they can see traffic approaching, especially bikers on the sidewalk, which is sort of common between this lot and Miller Drive

Staff investigated the concern and confirmed that the large limestone sign and any parked tow trucks are not obstructing the required line of sight for drivers on either side. Drivers may need to pull forward slightly past the stop bar, once pedestrians are clear of the crosswalk, to verify that no traffic or cyclists are approaching before turning. This is a common and acceptable practice at locations with similar configurations.
