Planning staff did perform a sweep of the area to remove all signage located in a prohibited location a while ago. Upon inspection many the signs to which you are referring were placed in a code-compliant location on private property. If they are now placed in a prohibited sign location, they will be removed by City staff eventually, but signage is our lowest priority as we are swamped with many other code cases and projects. We will continue to perform regular sweeps around the entire City, not just in targeted locations, to continue to remove signage from prohibited locations as we have time. Planning staff have already observed and documented any signage in this area that was placed in a prohibited location such as in the public right-of-way or on a fence. Planning staff remove signs placed in the public right-of-way, but not signs placed on private property such as signs on fences. This is on our list for Notice of Violation letters to write, if the sign continues to remain in a prohibited location.
