City of Bloomington, Indiana

open #202481

Other:

Other: The railroad company has piled up a huge stack of railroad ties that smell *horrible*, like a mixture of gasoline and naphtha and creosote. It is chokingly noxious, maybe even an acute asphyxiation hazard. It is on the south side of the tracks, north of 12th Street right where Dunn Street ends. Does the City have jurisdiction over this? Can the railroad be asked to pile toxic products in places far away from residential areas? It can be smelled by residents in houses close by, and the stench wafts through the neighborhood at night.
