Dear Bloomington Town Department,
I am writing to formally report an ongoing issue at the property located at 402 E 1st Street. Early this morning (December 6), while cleaning up trash that had blown into my yard, I noticed excessive garbage left in their backyard. The bags are torn open, and the mess has begun attracting animals; just last week, while I was traveling, several neighbors reported seeing a coyote in the area.
This property, which I believe is a rental, has been a recurring source of disruption in our neighborhood. In addition to improper waste disposal, previous incidents have included:
• Smoking cannabis openly in the backyard.
• Loud parties continuing until 4:00 a.m.
• Unauthorized backyard fires without proper safety measures like a firepit.
• Failure to maintain the property, such as leaving fallen leaves uncollected.
I kindly request the town to investigate these concerns and take appropriate action to address the situation, ensuring the safety and well-being of our community.
If I must report my concerns to another department, please let me know.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
