The City of Bloomington Commission on the Status of Women is seeking nominees for the 2024 Woman of the Year, Toby Strout Lifetime Contribution, Emerging Leader, and Young Woman of the Year awards. The deadline for nominations has been extended to Friday, February 9th, 2024.

The City of Bloomington is accepting applications from community members who would like to serve on one of the City boards or commissions.

The Bloomington Arts Commission will collaborate with Parks to solicit designs and select the final art.

Before taking office, Mayor Kerry Thomson put out a call to the community, asking residents to get involved in their local government by volunteering to serve on City boards and commissions. The community has answered that call, and today Thomson is pleased to announce her appointments to the following boards and commissions.

Farmers and growers, and food and beverage artisans, apply by Feb. 21 to receive full consideration.

The City of Bloomington 2024 Resident-Led Traffic Calming grant program is now open, empowering residents to actively contribute to the safety and well-being of their neighborhoods.

The Bloomington/Monroe County Human Rights Commission (BMCHRC) is seeking nominations for the 2024 Human Rights Award, recognizing an individual or group that has made specific, significant contributions to improving civil rights, human relations, or civility in our community.

Mayor Kerry Thomson invites the community to the City of Bloomington Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 6 p.m. at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater. This is a free event open to the public.
