This resolution approves the report of the Bloomington Platinum Biking Task Force as an advisory document and strategy for achieving a platinum designation from the American League of Bicyclists by 2016. The report identifies ways to achieve this designation by improving bicycle-friendly efforts in education, encouragement, enforcement, evaluation and planning, and infrastructure engineering. The recommendations of the report are intended to significantly improve Bloomington’s bicycle-friendly stature and result in a more balanced transportation network.
