This amendment to Amendment #1 is sponsored by Councilmember Mayer and would remove a provision that prohibits the slaughtering of chickens on the harborer’s property Chickens have only a few years when they can lay eggs and some harborers may want to kill and eat these chickens to make room for more egg-laying chickens. It adds one more provision that any slaughter of chickens shall be accomplished in a humane and sanitary manner and shall take place out of public view.
