Switchyard Park

Hi there! First off, Switchyard Park is looking really good. I know finishing touches are still in process. I was excited to see that the dog parks are now open. However, several times now we've taken our small dog (below 25 pounds) to the small dog park only to see that number of people have their large dogs in the enclosure. It wasn't possible to use the park because the dogs were rather rough during play with the other dogs. The first time we thought maybe it was a fluke but the subsequent two times the same thing happened.
The small sign on the placard isn't particularly visible so I'm wondering if it would be possible to have a sign directly on the entry gate labelled "small dogs" and a "large dog" sign on the opposite dog park gate? Perhaps you could also indicate either the weight maximum or example of standard dog breeds considered small v. large. I've seen such signs in other municipalities for their small v. large dog parks. Thank you!! Keep up the great work.

Resident sent a letter complaining about the quality of speakers at Switchyard Park. She is a violinist in the BSO. She suggested replacing the speakers so that the quality of the music can better be appreciated.

There is an older fellow who consistently comes to the park on a bike with his dog and plays loud, very explicit music on a Bluetooth speaker. I wouldn't really have an issue if there weren't so many kids around that don't need to hear that music aloud. He should wear headphones like everyone else. To give a physical description for better identification, he has long, somewhat greying hair and looks to be in his mid to late 40s. He always wears a backwards baseball cap, sunglasses, a t-shirt, and shorts. The dog is a small to mid size breed, mostly grey with some brown and white spotting. He frequents the tables outside the two dog parks but never actually enters the large or small dog parks. I believe this qualifies as being a public disturbance/nuisance and enough people seem bothered by it that it seems like someone with authority should take action to get him to cease.

The parent pick up lane continues to cause major issues with this street. The parents block the area where there is a lane merger with a cross walk. The parents need to follow the rules of the road and wait until the line is moving allowing the residents of the area to use that street. The teachers that guard there are rude, and will not allow you to go past even with no kids in sight. I understand there is another way through the neighborhood, but it is out of the way, and doesn't stop the fact that they are not above the law, and that street should not be blocked for ANYTIME. If there was an emergency, is it right for a loved one to have to wait for help due to a parent pickup line? This is an issue that can be EASILY fixed with the guards stopping the parents from blocking the merged area allowing for the traffic to flow. This has been brought to the school who basically puts their hands up like it isn't their teachers out there yelling at residents just trying to make it home.
