Drainage issue behind my house (2201 E. Autumn Drive). Rain water goes to the Jackson Creek but since last year the pipe has been damaged and now huge area has been damaged by the rain water. Big huge trees are falling (another one about to fall) because the rain is sweeping all the soil and roots have been exposed. Please have someone visit the site ASAP.
Ms Hammond left a voice message on 4/18/16 saying she has problems with storm sewer runoff in her backyard that has gotten much worse this year. She didn't know if the city could help because the storm sewer comes off The Stands Dr with a culvert that ends right in her back yard.

I submitted an erosion/drainage issue behind my house (2201 E. Autumn Dr. Bloomington IN 47401). Someone from City called and left a message for me saying that it is on private property therefore City will not take care of it. I showed it to several other folks and in their opinion, it is City's responsibility since the rainwater pipe is the one causing the damage. I am not sure if your site visitors went to the location to verify this. The rain water from the entire neighborhood comes through this pipe and ends in the creek. I am attaching a picture with this form so that you can take a look at it.If the site visitor wants to visit again, this is happening in between (the back of ) houses 2201 and 2200.
Ms Dula left me a voice message on 4/26/16 with concerns about drainage at the end of Stephens Dr and who is responsible for it. I checked the area and did not see any issues with the drainage in this area.
Area on east side of Lincoln, N. of 12th Street and close to RR fence is a low area where water accumulates and serves as a breeding ground for mosquitoes. This area should be regraded or filled to prevent the water from pooling.
Looking to obtain any drainage reports for areas around Wapehani Bike Park. Particularly the Sam's Club and Rural King shopping center.

We have been looking for a permanent home and are considering purchasing a particular home at 1929 E. Southdowns. There is one problem; there is an open drainage ditch running the length of the front yard where it meets the road. I assume it is a city easement and is city maintained. I am first and foremost quite concerned about the possibility of children being injured in the ditch, and would welcome the city installing proper pipes and covering the area. I’m also concerned about any liability I might have as homeowner. How might I go about obtaining a letter from the city which states that the city is responsible for maintenance of the ditch and has liability for any injuries that may occur? Thank you. The public alley located off of Hawthorn Drive to the west (between 1st and University St) has a recurring problem of washing out due to Hawthorne Street drainage running down the alley. It is a gravel alley. It currently has several gulleys that make it difficult to navigate with a car. It has been regraded several times, only to wash out again. Needs to be graded to make it passable for now and then needs a more permanent fix to keep it from recurring. Thanks!
