Parking Meters and Citations

405 W 7th ST

Case Date:
5/20/2024

The meters in front of 401 w Seventh st were installed backwards. To feed the meter it should face away from the car/street just like the rest of the meters around town. When looking for a parking spot I look for meters flashing green so I can save some money. These meters are backwards - so you can’t see if it is flashing red or green

We received a parking citation used debit card and put it on the wrong side. My wife called and explained to parking department and informed they can check the meter by computer and see if our debit card was used at that time? My wife also submitted debit card picture where it was paid and amount. Informed to file an appeal and it can be checked. A few days later received email appeal denied? We paid the fine but apparently nothing was checked? Maybe bad information? Thanks for listening Mike

I was an Uber driver sitting westbound on 10th Street waiting for a passenger to come out of the student housing building. I was there less than 7 minutes in my vehicle and I was issued and obstructing traffic citation. The appeal was denied. Moving forward, how does the city want to deal with working vehicles obstructing traffic? Specifically, when semis block an entire Lane on Dunn or Kirkwood to unload beverage and food supplies to the various bars and restaurants? What about FedEx or Amazon delivery trucks that upstruct Lanes as well? Plus countless other rideshare drivers. If this citation is to be upheld, please let me know how to report continuous road obstruction violations that I see numerous times a day as I drive around the city working.
