The large sweet gum tree in the right of way in front of our home has a very hefty branch that is growing directly toward our house and is very close to the front of the house and hangs down into my front garden. During large winds, the branch sways widely and is a danger to the sidewalk and our home. Can you trim the branch? Thank you!
Recycling was not picked up this week (Thursday). I brought the cart back in today but not sure if I should return it to the curb for a late pickup.
A grocery shopping cart filled with garbage (and various unidentified personal items) was left abandoned in the roadway between 914 N Fairview St. and 915 N Jackson St, and in the back of 620 W 13th st. Cart first noticed morning of 7.6.
There are two very large and deep muddy puddles in the large dog park area at Switchyard. One is located by the large tree in the center of the park, and the other is located by the sitting area under the green awning. My dog recently got into the muddy water, ate and drank it, and became severely sick for several days. After speaking with several dog owners at the park, this has happened with their dogs too, so it is definitely a health hazard. It is very difficult to keep the dogs away from these areas. This does not seem to be a problem just after rainfall, but most of the time. I ask that they be filled with gravel or fenced off to allow for regrowth and to keep dogs away in the meantime. While walking our dog, the neighbors (5910 S Foxwood Ln) dog (large fluffy yellow) came charging across the street, jumped and took our 80lb lab down by the neck. The neighbors dog never barked or growled, just attacked. I never heard him approaching, even with my hearing aids. My husband saw the dog charging and started yelling since this particular dog has attacked other dogs in the neighborhood. My husband jumped on the dogs, removing the neighbors dog from ours and holding it onto the ground. I ran to our dog and crouched over him in case the other managed to get free. Our son ran to the neighbors door to alert them of their dog. Amber, our neighbor, came out to get her dog and was apologetic. She is having a party and someone opened the door and the dog got out. However, this extremely aggressive and unprovoked behavior by her dog has happened before so I want this on record. I will speak to my neighbor when I calm down. We checked our dog for injuries when we got home and he seems guarded but uninjured.
On the trail by Winslow Sports Park, adjacent to Highland, near Winslow Farm Rd. There's a short wooden bridge/boardwalk. We were biking on the trail as an alternative to riding on Highland Ave and my son crashed at the bridge. He's fine, but it wasn't fun and it could've been worse. The wood was wet and friction strips are missing/ineffective in areas. There's also a large bump from asphalt to wood, so his tires were bouncing anyway. On top of that, the bridge is located in a turn - you can't even go over it straight, you have to be turning. Turning a bike on wet wood is destined for failure. Please replace this bridge. Preferably a permanent solution, like a culvert covered by concrete, which will permanently resolve the friction and bump issue. Wood will just become an issue again. Thank you.
