I am reaching out this morning to ask that the city address the homeless camp site next to RCA park north of Cherokee Dr and IMI concrete plant. I believe this was supposed to addressed after the severe cold a while back. Most of us on Cherokee Dr were completely understanding and have been tolerant of the homeless camp. However, the size of this camp has ballooned to highly unsafe levels. Unsafe for the residents of the camp and to the residents in this neighborhood. There has been a sharp increase in trespassing, fighting, littering all over the neighborhood, abandoned bikes and other junk. There is a constant flow of people up Cherokee and behind it and it’s only increasing. Three nights ago we had someone knocking on doors and trespassing at multiple houses. I could hear a neighbor yelling at this man because he was creeping around his house. I caught him on camera as well as a guy last night who climbed on my porch and moved furniture to look through my window. Does that sound a little creepy? It is. Stuff like this has happened more often and it really needs to be addressed. We have the services here in town, maybe not to help this number of people , but we have services and camping on private property and harassing a neighborhood as well as a new neighborhood being built isn’t part of those services. Please look into clearing this camp as soon as possible and preventing it from being established again. It’s been cleared a few times, only to have the problem increase in numbers time and time again. It is unsafe and unsanitary and the problem is only getting worse by the day.
Yesterday 4/7 was the collection of the yard waste. We put or three yard waste dig brown paper bags on the curve. The bags are visible. No truck collected the garden waste dig brown. This is the third time that the truck didn’t come. It seems as it there is no service here anymore. Could you have our garden waste removed ?

The batting cages at Winslow are still not up, even though rec league practices have already started. That means teams and players cannot do batting practice. The same thing happened last year, when the cages were not ready until late April. Hopefully they can be up by this week. If help is needed, I know parents and coaches are ready and willing to assist. Unfortunately, the condition of the fields and facilities creates a negative cycle: the facilities are not properly maintained, people get frustrated and stop signing up, and then Bloomington sees low turnout and does not prioritize investing in improvements. Then the cycle repeats. If the fields and facilities were ready to go, properly maintained, and given a few needed upgrades, I believe rec league participation would increase. Winslow could also become a stronger location for hosting successful baseball and softball tournaments.

Many potholes
Hi again, I recently reported potholes (and the terrible shape of my street in general), but in particular the hole in front of my driveway at 2912 S Kings Court. A crew was sent and repaired some of the holes, EXCEPT the one in front of my driveway. We have added some gravel to the hole to make it easier to get in/out of the drive, but it still needs a proper repair. I realize that you've already designated the streets that will be repaved in 2026, but Kings Court is terrible and has not been paved in the ***25 years*** I have lived there. The cracks and chunks gravel and holes that erupt after bad weather are a hazard to the elderly and handicapped who live on our street. I urge you to reconsider the decision to not repave this street in the very near term.
