Residents at this house have left beer cans and solo cups scattered in the yard among other trash. It’s been blowing away into the alley ways. On top of that as well, they have an improperly stored trash bin in the road which has been tipped over and is actively spilling into the road. They also put up caution tape around their yard which has come loose and has also blown into the road as well. All of this is in their back yard which is facing me. I live at 415 S Grant St. I would really appreciate if someone came out to check it out and either clean it up or tell the residence to clean it up, I really care about the local environment and I’ve noticed small animals eating out of the garbage.

The cap on the water meter is wobbly and not attached properly. I am afraid someone might get hurt if they were to step on it. The meter is just to the right of the driveway. Thanks in advance.

For Council & Mayor Offices: The whole near west side within city limits that leads to what everyone considers the actual west side of Bloomington (whether in city limits or not) is being very poorly zoned and utterly bad development. The city never prioritizes parks or other greenway features - or even just simple street trees and better vegetation requirements. All the businesses over here continue to get gigantic parking lots and the less popular zoning cases (i.e. rehabilitation centers) are pushed to the west side. Where are these items on the east side of town? Or north? This is inequitable zoning and use of resources focused only to east side and downtown residents. We want to see better.

Traffic Signals
S. Rogers st. and w 3rd st.

My wife and I live at 515 W 3rd st, in Prospect Hill. I would like to request a simple upgrade to the functionality of the pedestrian signals at the S. Rogers st. and W. 3rd st. traffic interchange. I will reference the City of Chicago as a best practice. In Chicago, in almost every intersection with a traffic light, all pedestrian signals utilize the following sequence:
a) When the light turns green, the white walk icon light actuates.
b) When the pedestrian signal reaches the 30 second level (sometimes more or less than 30 seconds, depending on the overall duration of the light), the white walk signal changes to a red blinking don't walk icon and countdown timer, which counts down the remaining walk time.
c) When the timer reaches 0, the blinking light changes to a full red don't walk icon. This coincides with the traffic light turning yellow.
d) This functionality is in place 24/7/365.
This functionality provides crucially important situational information to both drivers and pedestrians on the status of the traffic light. This is especially important as we somewhat frequently witness incidents of road rage at this intersection, as an unintended consequence of the no right turn on red signage that has been placed at this intersection. I am generally supportive of the no right turn on red signs, but the signage has definitely created this new issue.
Because this functionality already exists at this intersection (in some pedestrian signals, at some times of the day), there should not be any material cost to make this change. It will require a technician to modify the code in the microprocessor that controls the lights.
Please feel free to reach out to me if you would like to discuss further. Thank you.

Sidewalk & Curb Complaints
S High Street between E Meadow Bluff Ct and Wimbleton
- Case Date:
- 4/24/2025
A year has passed since I wrote this (closed case #188144):
'The orange barriers along the sidewalk on S High Street between Wimbleton and E Meadowbluff Ct still have not been removed and remain a big eyesore. I was told that Duke Energy needs to do something there before they can be removed. I bet it has been 2 years now that those barriers have been there. Isn't it time that Duke did what they need to do in order for them to be removed?!
The, by now faded, barriers are still there a year later. When will this eyesore disappear?
