This house has all kinds of things outside that are NOT meant for outdoor use. A filing cabinet, for instance. This address has been reported multiple times and nothing gets done. Can you please tell them something other than, "Put a tarp over it"! How about mandating that they actually clean it up by a certain time frame. Never happens.
Biking & Walking
111 W 7th St, Bloomington, IN 47404, USA
- Case Date:
- 7/14/2022
The City needs to find a better way to keep the 7th Street bike path clear for cyclists. On Wednesday, July 13, 2022, around 9:25pm I was biking with a group of cyclists. We were headed east on 7th Street in the bike lane. As we crossed College and headed towards Walnut, every single cyclist had to exit the bike lane and ride in the lanes of traffic because a pickup truck was going in reverse down the bike lane. The truck had its white backup lights on and was moving from Walnut back towards College, fully in the bicycle lane blocking both lanes of bicycle travel.
This is classic Bloomington infrastructure. Poorly designed, used incorrectly, and the people it is meant to benefit are no better off.

Utilities Yardwork

Bamboo overgrowth 1115 W 6th Street's SouthEast corner fence line is spilling over to easements of the three adjacent neighbors yards and easements. In addition to the rampant spread of this address's bamboo cluster, there is very serious concern that the utility pipes, water and gas lines, that run along the easements will be damaged or impinged upon. There is a city policy that overgrowth in yard cannot exceed a height of 8". Some of this bamboo overgrowth is over 15 feet! I love plants and I don't want to have bad relations with my neighbors, but bamboo is a terrifyingly overly successful plant species that belongs in a container. After hearing a story about bamboo on WFIU, I was heartened to learn that there might be some support from the city to help with this very insistent bamboo problem.

Several vehicles parked in the yard. tons of trash and automotive parts. It looks like they are running a car repair shop in the yard. They live in an RV parked in the back. This has been going on for months. I know the city has received several complaints and are doing nothing about it. This whole scene is devaluing the properties in the neighborhood. What if this was happening next to the Mayors house? Extremely upset that this is still going on!

Looks like the trash pick-up missed our cul-de-sac in Park Ridge East. Trash still in container and myself and numerous neighbors still have gray trash cans out.

A charcoal Grey Jeep Cherokee Indiana License plate # UP5372 has been parked in front of our house for months. It has not moved. It looks like an expensive car, so abandoned for the summer by a foreign student? Isn't there a time limit on parking spaces?
Street Trees

The oak tree in the front of our house has dead branches throughout the tree that we would like to have pruned. Also, could the health of the tree be checked as well? There seems to be more dead branches than there have been in previous years. Thank you.
Potholes, Other Street Repair
2127 E 5th ST

5th Street between Jefferson and Union streets is beyond the repair of simply fixing pot holes. Some of the damage on the street is due to property owners fixing their sewer lines and then not repaving the street.
