Is the city ever going to stripe this block on 6th street? The city paved this last year and never did stripe it. It would really help with parking. Many people not only double park but will parallel park on the south side which should be angle parking. I e reported this before and nothing is getting done.
I picked city performance to hopefully get this issue resolved. I reported this sidewalk blocked on 07/06/2021 Ureport # 176470. This thing that’s blocking the sidewalk is still there blocking the sidewalk as it shows in the picture. As many people walk downtown, I find it disappointing that this hasn’t been resolved.
Dear city, I would like to send sincere appreciation for Hank Duncan of the city Pedestrian and Cycling department. He is highly creative and a real pleasure to work with - and is a true asset to the city for his willingness to be a partner in city bike safety. Thank you, Hank - and well done! Craig Medlyn, Bloomington Bicycle Club, Safety Director
I tried to use this area to have a quick meeting with colleagues before going to an appointment at a business on the square. This area was unavailable due to the mess. Balloons, needles, beverage cans, etc. (The yoga mat is mine.) Further, these benches are damaged and appear to be unmaintained. I then moved to the corner of the square where no needles were visible. There I was immediately solicited by panhandlers twice. All of this is unacceptable and I hope to see these areas cleaned and maintained on a proper schedule. The frequency with which I am required to defend myself physically against panhandlers here is becoming unbearable. It is unsafe to be downtown in Bloomington, Indiana.
Bird bicycle VUB1B lying by sidewalk south side of 8th halfway between Washington and Lincoln, west of alley. And someone in city assigned this to Alyson bear she no longer work in city
socks full of shit laying in alley for days. the pile is getting bigger
Go Bloomington needs to update its website: it claims Bird, Lime, and local program Veo all provide service in the City of Bloomington. https://gobloomington.org/mobility-options/escooter/
117 S. Heritage Rd. To my big surprise, the trash can lid came back so soon. Thanks a lot. This changed my mind a little. During the construction of Smith Rd, S. Heritage Rd from no car street became a supper high way, the one who is in charge of the construction did not prepared for the transition and when the situation got so dangerous, so many neighbors complained, only kept telling us, when the construction ended, things will go back to normal. That’s terribly unresponsive, I already decided that not to vote to this city government for next tern. Now, I realized some people in the city are more efficient, maybe there still some Hope.
Bird e-bikes are terrible. Solid rubber tires make for a nasty rough ride. No bell to alert nearby pedestrians or cyclists if needed. Frame is so tall that even on its lowest seat setting it’s barely possible to get on it. A smaller adult than I would not be able to ride this bike at all. Lime bikes were far better quality ride. Alas, I’m using my car much more frequently now that the city refused to find a common ground with Lime and Lime e-bikes are gone.
