Overgrown weeds impeding sidewalk access
Both Hillside drive and High Street are heavily used. Hillside is a major east west thoroughfare and High street is a commonly used to go north to south and skip utilizing college mall and south Sare Roads. Moores pike / Hillside Drive and West Country Club / East winslow drive / East Rogers Road all deserve added lanes of travel. Going east to west in this city is painfully slow which causes a lot of dangerous driving situations. The roads are way to narrow as it is and distracted (or mechanical issues / health issues / Construction / etc) oncoming drivers leave very little room to avoid a head on collision.
On both corners of the T intersection of Hillside Drive and South Valley Forge Road, visibility is extremely poor and it is dangerous to try and pull off of valley forge onto Hillside going either east or west. If you are heading south on Valley forge and want to go east on Hillside, the bushes / brush / and trees block the view looking to your left; you have to pull out into the lane of travel to see left. The visibility looking right isn't much better but less of a concern because you aren't passing over an oncoming lane of travel.
This alley floods every time it rains, making it difficult for cars to pass through. It stays flooded for a while after the rain stops. If there was more rock in the alley it wouldn't flood so much/stay flooded for so long.
Homeless living behind unoccupied home with trash and fires. One person named Bob related to the property owner is allowed to camp there but in his absence others have taken up living behind home. Neighbors are now complaining. Mike Harper (812-360-5782) related to the absentee owner occasionally cuts the grass.
There is a pothole on eastbound Allen St before Patterson Dr.
Constant parking in road by multiple contractors that makes it impossible to travel through area.
Severe erosion issues from tree removal and other excavation work in backyard without proper erosion control measures put in place or inspected. Flood plain below the property is becoming badly silted on city of Bloomington property adjoining Jackson Creek. Site grading in the area appears to be completed, but erosion issues persist.
Ceaseless work on property by staff, including late into the evening. Dumpster and portapot on site for approximately 5 years. Excessive lighting at all hours of the night. Soil erosion into the floodplain as a result of excavation and tree removal.
Hi, Every year our block has 1-3 fawns born and the mother deer are protective for about 3 weeks, and especially aggressive towards dogs. At the very end of the birth cycle last spring 2024, the city put a couple signs up to warn the dog walkers off our block. That would be wonderful to have again this year - our first 2025 fawn must’ve been born today in the backyard of mine (808) or my neighbor’s (810) backyard on S Fess. If we could please have 2 signs for the next month or so to post out front at the ends of the block, that would be very helpful. Some folks know the drill and move back quickly and others take less effective approaches that endanger themselves and their dogs. Thanks! MaryAnn
