Property owner blew leaves all over sidewalks along both Cottage Grove and Lincoln, where they have piled up and are blocking passage and making the walkways slippery and dangerous. If the City refuses to pick up leaves, they should at least follow through and fine people who blow leaves onto ther people's property or public thoroughfares. The argument that the leaves will eventually decay is specious; that line of thought could be extended to saying that there is no need for laws at all because eventually everyone alive today will one day be dead.

Sewage was backing up into our house from the drain line, called out a plumber, and they were able to clear the blockage, but found a break in the line outside of our house due to the recent fiber optic cable installation. The external line needs repaired at this break as mud is still exposed and could cause another blockage in the line and we would also like a reimbursement for the cost of the plumbers that had to come out today.

Could you please ask the landlord at 402 E 1st Street to clean up the leaves in their front yard? Twice now, their leaves have blown onto my property at 404 E 1st Street. I had my yard cleaned before Thanksgiving and again today, December 14. As you can see from the photo, my property (on the left) is well-maintained, while 402 (on the right) is not. I would appreciate it if the landlord could take responsibility and maintain the property in a way that reflects good neighborly behavior. FYI: I do not have trees on my front or side yards. My husband does donation pickups as part of his job, today he went to this particular house. He called me after he was back at work quite upset. He told me a woman named Agatha lives here and has a dozen or more cats in individual cages, saying they don't like to come out because they are shy. He also said they did not have litter boxes and the whole house smelled of urine.

The City should check out the traffic issues happening on S. Woodlawn Ave from Maxwell to 1st. People are now parking on both sides of the street, often directly across from other cars, reducing this area to a single lane for two way traffic. This particular stretch of Woodlawn is relatively busy. People are parking so close to 1st on both sides of Woodlawn that sometimes you cannot even turn to go south on Woodlawn from 1st without needing to wait for a car at the stop sign on Woodlawn headed north to clear out (and hope the cars coming up behind it realize they need to stay back and let people through). I know legally right now the road allows parking on both sides. This could be evaluated and consider removing parking from one side of the street as people are not very smart about where they park and it is creating a hazardous reduction in traffic flow that is difficult for vehicles and bicycles to navigate.
