I am currently attending the virtual City of Bloomington Board of Park Commissioners meeting via Zoom. I am disappointed by the city’s negligence to make this meeting more accessible for those with hearing barriers. Why don’t ALL virtual city meetings have closed captions and/or live signing?
We are having problems with scooters driving on the sidewalk, we would like this parking area removed, it takes valuable space for store sandwich signs (businesses are already struggling) and encourages sidewalk use of scooters. Thank you,
Lots of smokers at the park and splash pad. No signs saying no smoking. No signs saying smoking in parks is illegal.
Sidewalk is blocked by overgrowth of shrubs. A great amount of pruning is needed.
Do you are you hospital being built in Bloomington is putting its workers, their families and your city at risk every single day! They have no program in place to stop the virus from bringing brought on to their campus. They have no social distancing. They can’t keep hand sanitizer in the handwashing stations at the Porta Johns. For a while they had someone who was urinating in the hand sanitizer bottles after emptying them on a daily basis. Now they just steal them. There are 450+ people that come in to that job site on a daily basis from all over Indiana Kentucky Ohio Tennessee and they all are scared and you know that it is just a matter of time until one of them or more brings that virus into the community. Not only is it going to spread like wild fire through the worksite, it will spread through your community because they get gas and groceries and drive through and they interact all throughout your community. Are you health does not care about these workers or their safety. My significant other is a manager out there and does not have the choice to just walk away. The heartbreak that I see on a daily basis because of the worry is cement. Tonight we spent sucking washcloths both the dollar general and bleach and putting them in baggies so that there would be a way for all the workers to wipe down surfaces and have something to wipe their hands with to sanitize them. That’s the little bit that we are doing to try to keep them safe because are you help isn’t. We have been waiting for their plan for over a month on what they are going to do and we are still waiting! Please force them to shut that worksite down for a couple of months until this spike is over! Save our families save your community and save thousands of lives in the process through not having it spread through yours or dozens of other communities that these people go home to. PLEASE I’m begging you for help. This is life and death. I’m not ready to lose my mate yet. It’s not fair to have to make a choice between a lifetime career and the life of your family. I’m terrified that it’s going to come into my life...my home and take everything I love. Or maybe it’ll take me. And for what? A building that isn’t going to be done for 16 months!? Maybe if it was going to be done in a month I could see it. If there was a chance that it could be done and help to save lives but it won’t. There is no way that it can help with this battle so don’t make it make this any worse please! Thank you for your time and consideration. Lime scooters blocking sidewalk. Date: 10/20/19. Time: 3:30PM. Location: near 126 S. Roosevelt St. We tried to move them out of the way but the wheels lock up unless we pay.
This picture was taken on 10/10 at 12:24 AM at the corner of Kirkwood/Dunn. The truck is called, "Smoked," and I do not see them as a registered truck on the list. I talked, "Ken," who said he and his wife own the truck and showed me a valid handicapped permit. I didn't get Ken's contact info or license plate.
Lacking accessible sidewalk ramps in Sherwood oaks neighborhood.
Three Lime scooters are blocking the sidewalk in front of my apartment building where several disabled people live.
I would like to request sidewalks/speed bumps on Elliston Dr. in Sherwood Oaks Neighborhood. Elliston is the main thourough fair to Sherwood Oaks Park, Jackson Creek Trail and Olcott Park, which also leads to Childs Elementary and Jackson Creek Middle School. There is significant foot traffic daily of adults, kids and pets being walked. Children go to school on this route and yet there is nothing provided to keep them safe. There are currently no sidewalks to keep foot traffic safe and no speed bumps to slow down traffic. People speed through this area whether local traffic or visitors to the park and what the city has done to date is not enough. Someone is going to get hurt and it will be on the onus of those who have chose to do nothing to keep pedestrians safe. Please consider making a change and putting sidewalks/speed bumps in to allow for safe travels for all in this area. Thank you
