Trash

401 N Morton St #250

Case Date:
4/30/2026

South Village Ct: there is one little drain at the end of the street and when there is a down pour for a length of time it can’t handle it and water starts to back up getting quite deep in the street! One of our neighbors knows about this and will get out in the water and clean the drain, which we shouldn’t have to do. Every Tuesday is recycle day on our street and loose trash floats down to this drain. The water has come up in our driveways and yards. Hopefully this can get resolved. I have lived here 24 years and nothing has been done about it. Thank you

Accessibility Problem

Cascades golf course

Case Date:
5/1/2026

My son is a player at BHSN and a paying member of the Cascades golf course (as required in order for him to play here during the golf season). Last week his team had a match at the golf course. Tee time was 315 and the boys were required to be off the course by 530 in order for league play. My parents came to watch him play. My parents are 69 and 74 and my dad is on dialysis with 4 blockages in his heart. He OBVIOUSLY cannot walk a golf course. My mother had contacted the course the day before to see if they could reserve a cart and was told ‘you don’t need to reserve one, it will be no problem just come in and get one and it will be $16’. On the day of the match, she showed up and went inside to get a cart and was told by the people working that day that there were no carts available because they had league that night. My mom then asked about what she was told the day before and the gentleman working the counter said ‘we don’t rent carts for high school matches. Sorry’. Sherie. Explained that my dad was a dialysis patient and unable to walk the course and he again said ‘sorry’ and dismissed her. The picture I have attached shows where all the carts were lined up at 515 when we came off the course. There were carts that were lined up in front of the clubhouse the whole time the boys were playing waiting for the league - which again DID NOT START until after the boys were off the course. There were carts available but they would not rent them but rather let them sit there for over 2 hours waiting for league players to arrive. We have been notified by the coach that this may be a “new” expectation from the course from here on out as they had changed the rules without discussing this with the high school. This is a CITY OWNED COURSE therefore there should be an expectation that the course is expected to follow the American Disability Act legislation. Players of any age can play golf whether they can walk the course or not. This is unacceptable and a complete disregard for ADA legislation which are federal laws - not local. We were not asking for anything for free. We understood we would be paying for a cart but the fact that multiple carts sat there for hours not being used but not available to someone with an obvious disability is not only morally unacceptable but appears it may be illegal as well. This is blatant discrimination against someone with a disability. In addition, my son is a paying member of this club yet I am Now being told that we can not even practice on this course as we have in previous years. This is unacceptable in multiple ways. I expect a response

Trails

Vehicle damage to the ground beside the Jackson Creek Trail: There were deep ruts around one of the cement pads for a bench at the Rogers Family Park. This might be from a mower that got stuck. But then, from the roundabout where the trail leaves Sherwood Oaks Park and goes to Rhorer, there was damage to the ground to the right side of the trail all the way to the farm. First there was a rut dug out on the right side of the trail. Just before the farm's fence, there were numerous deep tracks all through the plantings of cup plants, and muddy tracks onto the trail where it tried to turn around. This was done by something with very large treads - maybe a gator? This is a wild area with posted no mowing or spraying, that usually has a dense concentration of cup plants. What happened?

Another one bites the dust... Another car claimed by the totally pointless concrete triangle in the Henderaon/Allen St parking lot at Bryan Park. Someone please take a sledgehammer to this thing.

Wow - how can this rental be allowed to remain in this condition? MANY violations here. Trash, food, animals, car parts, unclothed children - and that is just the front yard.

Nuisance Lights

Alley running east-west between Morton and Madison streets, located about half way between Dodds and 1st Street

Case Date:
4/26/2026

There is an old light pole half way along the alley with a flood light high up that glares light across several lots and shines into my house and porch (748 S. Morton St.). This is not a Duke Energy pole. It is only identifiable by a number 4, about to fall off, and an inspection medallion dated 2003. The pole right at Morton, to which it is connected, says it is owned by Public Service Co. of Indiana, pole number punched into metal plaque 1627-709 and maybe also punched notches for Customer and Owned. An inspection medallion that says OSMOSE insp. 2018. D. This simplest way to end the light leakage would be to remove the light. If properly shielded to prevent the light leakage of course that would be okay too. I have photos, but I can't figure out how to add the file to this UReport. If you could send me an email address I can send the photos as a Word file. I would be glad to meet someone from the city and show them the source of the problem. Thanks for your help. best, Jean Lave

Potholes, Other Street Repair

120 N Jefferson ST

Case Date:
5/4/2026

All of the new construction along Jefferson between third Street and 10th St. where they’ve made street cuts for the sewer lines need to be repaired. I believe it’s the responsibility of the contractor to repair the street and none of these repairs look to be permanent.

Blocked Street

1010 W 2nd ST

Case Date:
5/5/2026

I’m extremely disappointed with how the project on 2nd is being handled. Someone needs to take responsibility and manage this properly. I had an appointment and was late, not because of anything I did, but because access to the business was completely blocked. I then tried to use the alley as an alternative route, only to find that it was also closed due to construction. This level of poor planning is unacceptable. If both the main access and the only alternative route are shut down at the same time, what exactly are people supposed to do, fly?
