The new bus shelter has been converted into a homeless shelter with blankets. Trash is overflowing, stuffed in a Dollar General cart. Why can’t someone clean this up? We feel unsafe when waiting for the bus!

Does Bloomington Transit empty trash every day at the stops? This can has been full for days, now it’s being piled into a Dollar General cart
Traffic Signals
3rd and Adams
- Case Date:
- 7/22/2025
The pedestrians crossing signals at 3rd and Adams, on the NE and NW corners, shout “wait, wait” when pedestrians can’t cross. But when it’s time for pedestrians to cross, the verbal directions are very faint and hard to hear over traffic.
And many of these devices at other locations don’t work at all. Are they routinely checked?
Thank you.

The sidewalk has a severe depression that collects rain (and ice in the winter), often to a depth of 3 or 4 inches. The problem started last year immediately after the area was reconstructed with new grass on either side. Someone did not think about the consequences of building grass higher than the level of a sidewalk that is not level.

Does this city code also apply to bus drivers? It's posted prominently all over the downtown Transit Center, and yet mutiple bus drivers enjoy their tobacco at the entrance to the parked buses while riders waiting to board are downwind of their smoke, unable to board. Does this mean anything, or does it only apply to riders?
