Line of Sight

Tree and brush growth needs to be cut back to provide better visibility at the intersection of Brighton Crest and Smith Road. When you are exiting from Brighton Crest facing west and looking south, the tree and brush growth limits your line of sight. Traffic travels at high speed (much faster than the posted speed limit) which further compounds this problem. The hilly nature of Smith Road also makes the line of sight less. Increased speed enforcement and tree and brush removal would make this much safer. As a longer term project, Smith Road needs to be redesigned and developed with considerations made for vehicles, pedestrians, and bicycles. This is a dense residential area and yet Smith Road remains a hilly and dangerous country road.

Parking Garages

Follow up on Case #199613. This report shows that it has been resolved, but the lights have never been operational. I know that one of these lights failed after a few days of the parking garage opening. I would imagine they are still under the original warranty from the contractor that built the garage / supplied the electrical fixtures. Sorry for being pesky about this, but the exterior of the parking garage looks nice . . . and having two lights that have been out of commission for over two years does not send the message that I believe we want to send. Furthermore, it seems like the contractor should still be on the hook for this repair.

Following up on Case 188180. This report shows that it has been closed, but the valve cover has never been lowered to sit flush with the surrounding sidewalk. This creates a trip hazard and violated City ordinances related to ADA compliance and sidewalk maintenance.

South Woodlawn from about Southdowns to Atwater is very uneven with multiple holes and sections of uneven pavement, especially at intersections like Woodlawn and Wylie. It's like driving an obstacle course on this major north/south access road to the IU campus.

there have been many complaints against Reseve on third and nothing has been done. below I have copied city code, according to city code they are in violation please look into the madder and stop abusing your powers and ignoring them. 16.04.050 - Exterior structure. (a) All portions of the exterior of a residential rental unit and its accessory structures shall be maintained in a structurally sound manner, be in good repair and be maintained in accordance with this title. (b) All portions of the exterior of a residential rental unit and its accessory structures shall be maintained in a manner that does not pose a threat to the public health safety or welfare. (c) Exterior wood surfaces on residential rental units and their accessory structures, other than decay-resistant woods, shall be protected from the elements and decay by painting or other protective covering or treatment. (d) All metal surfaces subject to rust or corrosion on a residential rental unit or its accessory structures shall be coated to inhibit such corrosion and all surfaces with rust or corrosion shall be stabilized and coated to inhibit future rust and corrosion. (e) Peeling, flaking and chipped paint on the exterior of a residential rental unit or its accessory structures shall be eliminated and done in accordance with any applicable rules or regulations established by the United States Environmental Protection Agency or the state department of environmental management. (f) Exterior surfaces on residential rental units and their accessory structures shall be maintained free of mold. (g) If a residential rental unit is damaged, mutilated or defaced by marking, carving or graffiti, the owner of said unit shall restore the surface to an approved state of maintenance and repair. N/S alley stretching from 11th to 12th that is between and parallel to Grant and Dunn Streets is a jaw-rattling experience. Not a single pothole issue - rather, a candidate for full replacement. This is the same alley that further south is named Harold Street, is between one of the buildings for 800 N. Grant apartments and the 415 E. 11th apartment building, and serves as parking for the latter.
