I regret having to reach out to you regarding this bus #1372.  I boarded this bus on the East route of Route 3 this morning at approximately 7:22 AM on February 19, 2024.  I was informed by Mike Clark of Bloomington Transportation who is the operating manager, that the heater was working on that previous checked bus. Yet the heater is either not on, broken or the driver does not knbow how or desire to turn on the heater for the passenger. Furhter more, she informed me that the door heater was on, but that they do not work on some of the buses, as was the case on this bus this morning. There is no need to make passengers suffer like this.  The bus was NOT cold because of opening & closing the doors as MIke Clark previously suggested when I wrote to him regarding this bus.  The heat was simply not coming out of the overhead vents, there was only cold at the vents & the poles for holding onto were cold as well, indicating it had not been on for some time.  The dispatch operator's boss informed me begrudgingly that the bus was in fact bus #1372.  Since the dispatch operator could not be bothered to assist the driver in operating the heater that was alleged to be operating properly according to Mike Clark, I am forced to issue this complaint to the you the City of Bloomington government for heat on the buses in the Winter to be turned on & operating properly for the buses that do not have a heating system functioning or for the bus drivers who feel that we do not need the heat in the Winter. Sincerely, Timothy MacKLenzie

Sewer Problems (Storm Sewers)

3230 S Abby LN

Case Date:
3/10/2025

There is a city street drain at the bottom of my cul-de-sac between my house and my neighbors. I have been told by the city that the drain is not on city property. I am not sure why or how I am to maintain the drain. It is partially underground and does not drain as it should down the hill. How can the city put in a drain that doesn't work and then expect me to correct the issue. Last week I believe they backwashed the drain which let to a HUGE amount of leaves etc that was in the streets to wash down the hill behind my house and AGAIN destroy the steps I built! I have maintained the walking path at Rogers family park on both side of my house but am extremely upset that the city trees that fall and block the drainage along with the street wash (leaves, snow salt etc) destroying both sides of my house and washing away what little yard I have. I have cut brush and pushed logs but I am a 56 year old women and I can't move or clean as the city could if they would just come in and correct the drainpipe and push the dead trees away on the other side of my house. I push mud off of the trail and clean it all the time! I am often asked if I work for the city. I should!! I can't keep up with what the city should be doing with the water drainage in my neighborhood. I am at the bottom and I get EVERYONES leaves, sticks, street salt and mess. Please help me clean it up so I can continue to take care of it.

Not sure if this is the right department, but wanted to ask a question about priorities related to sidewalks and streets. I live on Goldin Ct on the east side. Last spring and now this spring, the city is ripping up the sidewalks and repaving them. Hard to argue with that need, but I walk them daily. In my estimation, they were not too bad at all. They do get travel, but not nearly as much as the streets. Goldin Drive and Goldin court are horrible and have been for the last two years. Pot holes, cracks, uneven road. I'm just confused as to why the there has been a two year priority on the SIDEWALKS, rather than the streets which are well traveled by cars and trucks. I'm going to attempt to attach some photos of my street to give you an idea of what I'm talking about. How do these funds get allocated and do you know when the STREET may get some attention?

Street & Traffic Signs

2110 N Angelina LN

Case Date:
3/10/2025

Semis turn down Angelina all week long to try to go to Printpack. Then they realize they can't turn into Printpack and they try to turn around in Roto-Rooter. These semi's have hit our mailbox 3 times now and the most recently damaged our land by backing into it. We understand things happen. We are wondering if a sign could be added onto Angelina (possible near our Roto-Rooter sign) that says there is a semi turn around at the end of Angelina Lane.
