There is a construction site on West First Street right beside my apartment building (The Canadian Apartments, 327 W First St) that has been active for some time now. The contractors there are extremely noisy and often begin work in the early morning hours, as early as 4:30am or 5:00am. I am writing because the site is so noisy and disruptive of rest, and to ask why the contractors do not have to obey any kind of quiet hours. Is there not a city ordinance against excessive noise in the nighttime/early daylight hours? I would very much like to rest undisturbed and these contractors seem not to be going anywhere anytime soon. Please make it stop. Sincerely, Thade Correa

My neighborhood located between Sherwood Oaks church and Jackson Creek middle school is currently undergoing placement of fiberoptic cables. I strongly prefer to not have this done in my yard. My neighbors seem to feel the same. It's already been done recently with Smithville (last year). They nearly hit a gas line in my neighbor's yard two houses over in our cul de sac. They did hit a water line in the yard across the street from us in the cul de sac. They seem to dig without much regard for our approval and preferences as homeowners. I'm trying to find out who to contact pertaining to runoff from a new construction site into the nearby neighborhood waterway on the west side of Bloomington. My concern is that the construction barrier broke during the big storm in July, causing muddy clayish water to spill out into the road and backup the drains. That water has now made its way into the creek that flows thru Orchard Glen Co-op and meets up with the one along the Karst Farm Greenway. Due to the amount of mud, i believe someone needs to inspect it to make sure it's not a threat to the habitat or karst system there.
