One of your buses has the external announcement volume level set WAY TOO LOUD. Unfortunately, I didn't get the bus number, but it was the #6 bus traveling westbound on E. 10th St. approaching Jordan Ave. at approx. 12:20 PM today. I was walking on the sidewalk, and the announcement blared out at an ear-shattering level. I'm used to hearing the bus announcements walking on streets downtown and around campus, but this was something entirely different as far as volume. My right ear is still in pain as a result. Please check the volume setting.

Do private student housing shuttles get all the privileges get all the privileges of City buses? They definitely shouldn't but obstruct traffic constantly that a car wouldn't be allowed to do. City transit rightly should get priority and is open to all but police need to stop private shuttle abuse.

Route 5 reduced hours ending at 7pm causes multiple problems for music students and their fans and all who want to reduce downtown traffic at night. Bad move to reduce hours. More condos and apartments on this route produce more bus traffic recently. Hours should be increased not decreased.

Please help. Someone said they are getting rid of the 6 stop at Smith and Morningside. That was not explained anywhere! We knew they were getting rid of the stop of the other line further into Morningside but NEVER the one on Smith. That not only helps slow the extreme danger of folks flying through the four way stop there but is used tons by faculty and students and staff of PRE and elsewhere to get to campus and downtown. This is a major problem and was NOT communicated well if true.

While I'm a supporter of the local bus system, the PA system on the bus can be heard 2 blocks away and inside my home.
I'm making a request that the volume on the PA that announces the next stop be turned way down. If it's for riders, it really can't be necessary for it to be at the high volume that it's currently set at. This was evident of the bus that comes at all hours of the day and into the evening. (one just passed by the 300 block of east 7th at 10:28 AM on 9/26/20.)
Thank you!

The Bloomington Police Department investigates after a city transit but struck and killed a woman near the bus station at the corner of Third Street, and Walnut, Thursday, September 26, 2019 in Bloomington, Ind. Police are not yet releasing the name of the women pending notification of next of kin. BPD Police Lt. John Kovach said, "At this time preliminarily it appears that the city transit bus was pulling out of the station when the victim was struck. She is a deceased. It is a female. I do not have any other information, age, or name or anything that we're going to release at this time, obviously due to next of kin notification. So at this point, the investigation is ongoing with our accident reconstructionists. I do not know when any information will be released for the accident. Obviously, we want to make sure that we do a good thorough investigation." (Photo by Jeremy Hogan/The Bloomingtonian)
